Description
Explode with flavor! These Crescent Bombs deliver a rich, creamy shrimp and crab filling wrapped in flaky dough. Perfect party bites. Full instructions and nutrition info included.
Ingredients
- Refrigerated crescent roll dough – 1 (8-count) can
- Cooked shrimp, finely chopped – 4 ounces
- Lump crab meat, well-drained and flaked – 4 ounces
- Cream cheese, softened – 4 ounces
- Mayonnaise – 2 tablespoons
- Old Bay seasoning – 1 teaspoon
- Fresh lemon juice – 1 teaspoon
- Green onions, thinly sliced – 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, Old Bay seasoning, and lemon juice; mix until smooth and well combined.
- Step 2: Gently fold in the finely chopped cooked shrimp, well-drained and flaked crab meat, and thinly sliced green onions into the cream cheese mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, preserving some texture of the crab.
- Step 3: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 individual triangles. Place about 1 to 2 tablespoons of the seafood filling onto the wide end of each crescent triangle.
- Step 4: Starting from the wide end, carefully roll up each crescent triangle towards the narrow tip, fully enclosing the filling. Pinch the seams and ends firmly to seal the "bombs" and prevent any filling from leaking out during baking.
- Step 5: Place the sealed crescent bombs seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not touching. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are puffed, golden brown, and the filling is heated through.
- Step 6: Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before serving warm as a delicious party appetizer.
Notes
- Store any leftover bombs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; they're best enjoyed fresh, but still delicious quickly reheated.
- For perfectly crisp reheated bombs, pop them into an oven preheated to 300°F (150°C) for about 5-7 minutes, which helps them maintain their golden crust better than a microwave.
- Elevate your appetizer spread by serving these warm bombs with extra lemon wedges for a bright squeeze, or a zesty dipping sauce like a sriracha aioli.
- A chef's tip for flawless bombs is to ensure your crab meat is exceptionally well-drained to prevent a watery filling, and always firmly pinch the crescent dough seams to seal in all the deliciousness.
